Maison Akoya was born from one belief: coily hair deserves real expertise. Since 2018, we have brought diagnosis, treatments and styling together under one roof in Sacré-Cœur.

It all started with one observation
In Dakar, many women with coily hair could find neither a truly expert salon nor products suited to their hair. Some turned to relaxers, others suffered from breakage or hair loss. Many dreaded the salon because it hurt, and ended up hiding their hair under wigs for lack of a solution.
Liliane Coulibaly, a trichologist, and Xavier Caly founded Maison Akoya in 2018 to fill that gap. One idea has guided the house since day one: healthy hair before beautiful hair.
Understand, treat, then support
Every journey starts with a hair diagnosis under the microscope. Liliane examines the scalp and the hair fibre, then suggests the treatments and styles that truly suit you: gentle, tension-free care by a team trained in coily hair.
To carry this work on at home, we created our own ranges of natural products, simple and effective. They are the ones we use every day at the salon.
With more than twenty years of experience in customer relations, Xavier makes sure every visit is a moment of listening and trust. Today, seven stylists and a front-desk team welcome you in Sacré-Cœur, with a Japanese Hair Spa in a private room.
